Why Do We Measure Electricity In KWH And Not In Ampere-Hours?
Electricity is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh) because it can be easily converted across the entire spectrum of electricity consumption. Akilowatthour is equivalent to one kilowatt of energy consumed in one hour.
batteries, on the other hand, are measured in amphours (Ah) as this is an indicator of the battery’s energy storage capacity.
amp hours refers to the minimum number of amps that can be drawn from a fully charged battery for one hour before it can no longer provide that level of current.
