Why Do Solar Cells Generate DC And Not AC?
Solar cells generate direct current (DC).
When sunlight hits a solar panel, it continuously produces energy.
This DC energy is then converted into AC energy by the inverter.
To convert solar energy into alternating current, an inverter is used as most devices run on alternating current.
So
solar panels produce direct current, but it is converted to alternating current by an inverter before it is used in our homes and businesses.
